OUR PEOPLE
Our people, both employees and contractors, are our greatest asset and the core of our success. We depend on skilled, hardworking and empowered people, in return we seek to maintain a safety-first culture in which everyone is motivated to do the right thing to keep themselves and their colleagues healthy and injury free.
We strive to create a culture of inclusivity and acceptance—of gender, race, cultural background, age and religion—that begins at the top, and carries through hiring, promotion and worker-to-worker relationships.
We strive to be an employer of choice through competitive wages, benefits and our policies of recognising and rewarding employee performance.
Our commitment to fair and equitable labour practices extends through every facet of our operations. We will adhere to the labour principles of the UN Global Compact and have identified employee development and teamwork as corporate values. We strive to include all levels of employees in the decision-making processes and will avoid if at all possible, strikes or lockouts in our operations.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Our approach to health and safety is simple. We want to ensure each of our employees returns home safe and healthy. Fodere Titanium & our associated companies firmly believe that creating a culture of safety and enforcing health and safety compliance, results in the prevention of risks and hazards, enhances the working environment, and leads to improved productivity. Our top priority is ensuring that the personal health and safety of every employee, contractor, client, visitor, and the local community comes first.
ENVIRONMENT
Fodere Titanium is committed to sustainable development and we recognise that the long-term sustainability of our business is dependent upon good stewardship in both the protection of the environment and the efficient management of the exploration and extraction of mineral resources. Our values and business principles as a business are based on a “zero harm” environmental management performance; they underpin our environmental policy and represent the minimum guidelines for the business in this respect. We will ensure that directors, officers, employees and contractors are aware of this policy as well as the relevant responsibilities which it sets out.
We recognise the increasing awareness within our industry of climate change and the need to participate in solutions that address the long-term impact of climate change, including where feasible, the reduction of green-house gas emissions. In particular we recognize the sensitivity around water management and water scarcity, where we will aim to constantly improve water management systems and their efficiency, and to monitor our usage of water resources in our areas of operation.
COMMUNITY
We recognise that local communities are at the heart of our operations’ livelihoods and are fundamental to our day to day work. We are committed to building strong relationships and proactively engaging in dialogue with local communities and institutions, as well as the government at a local, regional, and national level. Ultimately, we believe that the construction and operation of our processing plants can serve as a catalyst for further long-term regional development.
We aim to facilitate community development programs with a special focus on education and training. We are launching and financing additional sustainable income-generating projects which seek to build the momentum that will attract other investors and ultimately create local sustainable economic capital for the regions we work in.
